Thinking of renovating your kitchen? It’s only natural to get a few quotes—but before you jump at the cheapest price, it’s important to know what you’re actually comparing. At B&M Joinery, all our kitchens are custom-built with premium materials. So here’s a checklist to help you make sure you’re comparing apples with apples:


Key Questions:

✅ What brand of hardware is included?

We only use top-quality European brands like Blum and Häfele, but not everyone does.

✅ Is delivery & installation included in the quote?

Not all companies include this upfront—watch for hidden costs!

✅ What kind of board is being used?

There’s a big difference between high-quality laminate or painted MDF and cheap chipboard (which we don’t use, by the way).

✅ What’s included in the hardware and accessories?

Ask if the quote covers things like sinks, bins, soft-close drawers, cutlery trays, handles, or fancy extras like pull-out pantries or corner units.

✅ What type and thickness of benchtop is allowed for?

Some quotes will give you the bare minimum here—check the materials and finish.

✅ Are there special features included?

Think: waterfall ends, integrated appliances, hidden drawers—make sure these are all listed so you're not caught out later.
